Like those at the first Thanksgiving, residents in The Woodlands Hills will be toasting their good fortune and gathering with those they hold dear in their new homes for the first Thanksgiving in The Woodlands Hills. To help commemorate the occasion, we’re sharing some of our favorite Thanksgiving traditions and activities to help you celebrate! So instead of struggling to break through that turkey coma to think of what to do on Thanksgiving, you can focus on what really matters: being with the ones you love.
Watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade
Kick off the holiday by tuning into the H-E-B City of Houston Thanksgiving Day Parade. The fun starts at 9 a.m., and the show ends with the first Santa sighting of the season! Kids will love watching the area high school marching bands and larger-than-life balloon characters, including Caillou and Garfield.
Enjoy Some Post-Feast Exercise
Stuffed from stuffing? Head outside for a well-needed (and deserved) breather. Find a local park for some added adventure. The Woodlands Hills residents don’t have to go far to see green. Just like the area that played host to the first Thanksgiving, The Woodlands Hills is full of lush, natural landscapes. In fact, this is one of the reasons our first resident and member of the Founders Club chose to call The Woodlands Hills home:
“Our favorite things about the community are the trees, the walking paths and the future amenity center.” – Judith F., The Woodlands Hills Homeowner No. 1
Host a Pie-off
Back at the house, it’s time to settle the Thanksgiving pie debate. Ask everyone to bring their favorite Thanksgiving dessert and let everyone sample. We think your crew will agree that there’s a place for all of desserts on Thanksgiving! To help jumpstart our residents’ Thanksgiving dessert tables, we’re delivering pies form Pie in the Sky in Conroe to all of our current homeowners to celebrate the first Thanksgiving in The Woodlands Hills!
Join the Founders Club
The Woodlands Hills Founders Club is a cherished group of our first 100 families. Members of the Founders Club will have a tree planted in their honor and marked with a commemorative plaque in Founders Park. Want to be a part of it? You can join the Founders Club by purchasing a new home in The Woodlands Hills. Then, next Thanksgiving you can take a break from eating and head to Founders Park with your family to enjoy the many activities available to homeowners. It’s a great way to stay active and celebrate being one of the first families in The Woodlands Hills.
We shared some of our favorite Thanksgiving traditions and activities. Now, we want you to share with one another! Start a new tradition this year or incorporate a friend’s favorite activity into your family’s celebrations. Whatever you do, make sure it’s with the ones you love. Happy Thanksgiving!
