The arts scene in Conroe is thriving with the Creighton Theatre, Conroe Symphony Orchestra and multiple fine art galleries. Moreover, virtually every night, you can enjoy live music throughout downtown Conroe and Lake Conroe areas.

Conroe is making its music and arts scene a stronger presence on the map through industry designations.

A Texas Music-Friendly Community

Six months ago, Conroe became the seventh Texas City to be designated as a Texas Music-Friendly Community by the Texas Music Office, joining Austin, San Antonio and Fort Worth to name a few.

The office’s program provides a network for fostering music industry development and growth to help the city partner with the community to connect various musical entities such as nonprofits, music education, musicians, venues and producers.

A Film Friendly Texas community

Also, Conroe is in the final stages for receiving designations as a Film Friendly Texas community and as an official Cultural District.

Conroe will soon become a Film Friendly Texas community and receive valuable guidance by the Texas Film Commission on media industry standards, best practices and how to effectively accommodate on-location filming activity in the community. The designation helps grow local jobs and the local economy by promoting Conroe as a premier destination for film, television, commercial, animation, visual effects and video game production.

A Cultural District

The designation as an official Cultural District by the Texas Commission on the Arts will help provide a focal point for celebrating and strengthening the community’s cultural identity to attract artists and cultural enterprises.  It also promotes the preservation and reuse of historical buildings for cultural organizations.

Just over the hills and virtually in your backyard in The Woodlands Hills awaits a fantastic music and arts scene to enjoy. For more information, visit www.VisitConroe.com.
