Wednesday, August 13 brought many students to the walking path near Teralyn Woods Park as children of The Woodlands Hills set off on their morning ritual of walking to school for the start of the new school year.
For the fourth year in a row, Howard Hughes along with this year’s co-sponsor, Savannah Taylor with Oak Story Realty greeted students walking to school along the nature-laced pathway, wishing them well on their first day of school. Students were treated to a light breakfast and an opportunity to capture a first-day photo to memorialize one of life’s important events. A repetitive archway made with colorful balloons served as the frame for the photos along the wooded pathway.
The Woodlands Hills design includes a set of connected pathways from Teralyn Woods Park that lead to both Meador Elementary and Brabham Middle School, encouraging residents to walk and making getting to school convenient and quick.
“Making the morning walk to school a little more special by celebrating today’s occasion, we hope to motivate students to do their best, not just today, but all school year long,” said Steve Sams, Senior Vice President of MPC Residential at Howard Hughes. “This was a fun and engaging way to help ignite friendships and a sense of belonging to help promote success in school.”
Here at The Woodlands Hills, we wish every student a successful year in school.
