HHCares is Howard Hughes’ company-wide social responsibility program, established to leave a positive footprint, complementing our sustainability and environmental practices.
Community-focused philanthropy has been a guiding principle in our organization’s corporate responsibility strategy since its inception. As we build for the future, we remain sharply attuned to our ability—and our responsibility—to impact the lives of those within our communities and the world at large, as well as those within our own organization.
The Woodlands, Bridgeland and The Woodlands Hills are award-winning master planned communities in the Greater Houston region portfolio of Howard Hughes. Locally, we have been an active corporate philanthropist, donating to over 130 non-profit organizations annually to benefit the Community, Education, Environment, Economic Development, Health, Arts and Public Safety. In addition, we have funded over 225 educational scholarships to high school graduates pursuing a college education since the 1980s. We have also helped fund college scholarships in conjunction with the Lone Star College System and the United Way of Greater Houston.
In supporting local nonprofits, Howard Hughes encourages our employees to take an active role in volunteering and giving back to our communities. Our team members give a lot of time and effort to making our communities a better place to live.
