Located in the heart of The Woodlands Hills and central to the community is the 17-acre Founders Park. Rich in amenities, this signature park immerses visitors in nature and offers a variety of recreational opportunities.
Founders Park was designed to preserve and enhance the natural landform and forest of the site while transforming it into an exceptional amenity that provides multiple levels of active and passive recreation. It is part of the larger, 112-acres of open space that is connected by nature trails and bike paths throughout The Woodlands Hills, which will eventually be home to 20 parks.
Crossing through the heart of the heavily wooded Founders Park is a natural stream with a pedestrian bridge, giving it a unique character with its meandering path and exploration opportunities.
The focal point of Founders Park is the 10,600-square-foot Activity Center which offers 5,500 square feet of event-friendly indoor/outdoor space. The living room area is expanded through an overhead bi-fold door that lifts, integrating outdoor entertainment space. The Activity Center includes a dynamic 5,100-square-foot fitness center complete with state-of-the-art equipment for the ultimate workout experience, and an adjoining expansive outdoor yoga/events lawn.
An aquatic area is just steps away from the Activity Center. Here, residents can enjoy a zero-entry, resort-style leisure pool with a leisurely lazy river, as well as sunning decks and shade structures over portions of the pool and cabanas. A dedicated fitness pool with lap lanes is also available for residents’ use.
Adjacent to the pools are four tennis courts and a fully integrated playground and sprayground. The sprayground is a stream-like feature that meanders its way through the playground. The stream originates in an upper plaza surrounded by boulders that provide a play experience and seating. Nestled among the existing trees, the one-of-a-kind playground and play structures promote climbing, spinning, and unique interaction with the surrounding landscape. In the center is a large, elevated wood pavilion that offers scenic views across the site and includes exciting play elements that take advantage of the elevation changes.
Dog lovers and canines alike enjoy access to the Lucy and Gus Dauzat Dog Park in Founders Park. This one-acre space includes a separate area for smaller dogs, doggie drinking fountains, and sitting benches all surrounded by an abundance of lush trees.
