As the saying goes, “A little help goes a long way.”  Any of us could find ourselves in an unfortunate stream of circumstances that … with a bit of help from friends … could patch the bridge to self-sufficiency. That sentiment especially resonates now, as December is designated as “National Giving Month.”

The Community Assistance Center (CAC) is among the essential non-profits serving those in need throughout Montgomery County. They provide resources to meet the basic needs and improve the quality of life for our neighbors experiencing struggles. They then establish recovery goals and provide opportunities to learn valuable workforce skills to create a stronger foundation for their clients to support themselves and their families.

This year, Howard Hughes has partnered with Entergy to donate funds to cover the electricity bills for several clients – especially older adults – during the holiday season in support of the CAC’s “Power To Care” program. The client’s bills are cleared in a “Secret Santa” theme. This year is the second year the partnership has been extended to help others through the CAC.

CAC’s Executive Director Jennifer Huffine said, “I would like to extend a sincere thanks to Entergy Texas and Howard Hughes for their continued support of Community Assistance Center. Their generous contributions allow us to provide critical assistance to low-income seniors, ensuring they experience warmth, comfort, and peace of mind during this holiday season. This program not only helps to alleviate a financial burden, but more importantly, it ensures that our seniors feel supported, seen and cared for.

“CAC remains committed to supporting neighbors who are struggling all across Montgomery County. We are grateful for partners like Entergy Texas and Howard Hughes for empowering us to make the greatest impact possible in our community.”

We extend a heartfelt holiday wish to all!
