Participating in National Walk To School Day on October 2, students from The Woodlands Hills grabbed their favorite sneakers and stepped out from Teralyn Woods Park on the forest path to school.

Hosted by The Howard Hughes Corporation, students of Willis Independent School District enjoyed breakfast treats and cool drawstring backpacks giveaways as they made their way to Meador Elementary School and Brabham Middle School.

Puffy Pine Cone®, the lovable mascot of The Woodlands, visited this sister community to help kids walk to school.

“National Walk To School Day is a fun way to get to class and forego the bus or the carpool,” said Heath Melton, Senior Vice President, MPC, Residential Development, for The Howard Hughes Corporation. “Our interconnected hike-and-bike trails make it easy to enjoy a stroll outdoors to school.”
