Residents of The Woodlands Hills have been enjoying an abundance of fun springtime happenings in the neighborhood. Tammy Davis, the Lifestyle Coordinator for The Woodlands Hills (perhaps the best job ever!), has been busy planning and facilitating a full schedule of events for neighbors.

Here’s a sampling of the recent fun activities for adults and children have enjoyed with their neighbors within the amenities of The Woodlands Hills (all presented in compliance with COVID safety precautions of course):

Storytime in The Woodlands Hills

This is a fun and interactive time for children and parents to enjoy. For February, the theme was “Love Your Neighbor” followed by a St. Patrick’s theme for March. These fun events held in the Activity Center began at 10 a.m. with some creative crafts followed by thirty minutes of storytime with Tammy reading three or four books to the kiddos. Moms and Dads enjoy some neighborly fellowship chatting about local schools, kids’ camps, and other stuff to get to know each other. Afterward, the kids head to a nearby park and play. Tammy enjoys seeing the kids grow just a bit more each month they get together for Storytime. The event is also a good opportunity for her to ask parents what types of future events they would be interested in.

“Taste of the Hills” Kitchen Cooking Class

Held in the modern kitchen of the Activity Center, the “Taste of the Hills” kitchen cooking classes presented an educational and interactive experience for all ages. On March 14, a “Spring Break & Decorate!” cake decorating class, themed  “Macarons & Swirls” was taught by Rustika Café and Bakery. Participants chose either a chocolate or vanilla cake to decorate and were taught how to make colorful decorative icings of their choosing. Following design demonstrations, participants were coached as they experienced hands-on decorating using frosting swirl techniques and toppings created from macaroons and unique sprinkles. The co-owner of Rustika Café and Bakery, Justinne Whichard, is a resident of The Woodlands Hills and plans to add a location in Willis in the coming year.  Yummy!

March Into Spring

On March 21st an afternoon outdoor spring festival with family-fun activities and upbeat DJ music was hosted in Founders Park. A whimsical costume bunny and a beautiful, winged fairy interacted with the children as they enjoyed finding coveted golden eggs to win gift baskets and competed in a delicious cakewalk, sponsored by Rustika Café and Bakery. There was also an interactive giant bubble magic demonstration sponsored by Conroe Dental Health and several craft booths for the kids to express their creativity. Thanks to the many sponsors, the festival was a big hit!

Lots of other fun outdoor activities are on the horizon for residents of The Woodlands Hills. Tammy is busy planning monthly live music House Concerts as well as a “Flick-N-Float” pool party and a “Movie On The Lawn” event. She does an amazing job for our neighbors, and we are proud to note that she has recently been recognized by the National Association of Home Builders with a gold award as “Lifestyle Director of the Year.”  Congratulations To Tammy!!!
