Our reasons for moving may differ from others. Changing jobs, wanting a shorter commute, needing more space for a growing family, or perhaps, scaling down because children are grown and on their own. These are just some of what drives a new home purchase. For homeowners in The Woodlands Hills, similarities exist for residents who make the choice to live here. Featured here are three residents’ stories any their “why” for choosing to live in The Woodlands Hills.
SAVANNAH & NATHAN TAYLOR
Savannah and Nathan were looking for a new home for their growing family where their children could grow up spending time outside, riding bikes and playing with neighbors their own age. They needed a home at the right price point, and one that provided opportunities to participate in activities.
The Woodlands Hills wasn’t on Nathan’s list. Savannah is a Realtor, and she knew from her experience of selling homes in the community since 2019, this was the perfect place. “It’s a hidden gem he didn’t know existed. It took my husband one trip to Founders Park to change his perspective, and off we went to look at model homes, starting the process to purchase our dream home,” said Savannah. “It gives me a sense of joy to have the opportunity to live in such a beautiful place!”
She describes The Woodlands Hills as more of a village: “The community gives me peace of mind, knowing neighbors are looking out for one another. If my daughter is playing in the street with friends, there is an added sense of security that comes from knowing others are keeping a watchful eye on the kids in a helpful way.”
Programming helps to solidify the connectedness with neighbors. Having friends within a short walking distance, the kids look forward to participating in scheduled activities. “They always want to be together!”

DARRIEN & SAM PEOPLES
Many residents have expressed the skillful blending of community development among the trees, and the contouring of the land is what helped them to decide on purchasing in The Woodlands Hills, and that holds true for our next residents’ story.
Two of Savannah’s clients, Darrien and Sam Peoples purchased their first home in The Woodlands Hills during COVID 19. The couple made the decision to purchase property in Texas, and at the time, they weren’t sure if it would be a vacation home or their retirement home. After visiting several major cities, they decided on the Greater Houston area.
“We didn’t love the sea of homes in other communities. They felt generic with no personality,” explained Darrien. Being accustomed to a lot of diversity in the landscape, the natural surroundings of The Woodlands Hills reminded them of the Northwest. “We fell in love with the trees and focus on nature. It makes it a beautiful place to live.”
The convenience factor of the Woodlands Hills is another reason Darrien and Sam chose the community. “The building out of restaurants and shops nearby while also feeling tucked away were important considerations for us,” Darrien explained. “We’ve fallen in love with every aspect of this community.

GABI & CONNOR MITCHELL
In 2021 Gabi and Connor moved into the home purchased by Gabi’s parents Darrien and Sam Peoples. Gabi and Connor were just out of college when Connor landed a job in Houston. After a few years, they made the decision to purchase their own home in The Woodlands Hills. They enjoy being close to family with their home being walkable or a quick golf cart ride to her parents’ home.
When moving to The Woodlands Hills from the San Diego area, several factors stood out to Gabi and Connor. “Living on the West Coast, being near the beach and mountains offered a different way of living, but here there is a greater sense of community, hospitality and ‘love thy neighbor’ sentiment that doesn’t exist there,” Gabi said. “The fact that we have shared values with people who want to grow families creates a great community to live in.”
“For me, I think it’s the silence –– the peaceful calm and slow pace of living, which is very opposite from where we came from,” said Connor. Quality of life is important as they start their lives together. “It’s a different style of living for people our age, but Gabi and I really enjoy it.”
The community also offered the young couple affordability. Finding a home that fit their needs and their budget was equally important. With the trees, trails and amenities they pointed out how The Woodlands Hills wasn’t a cookie-cutter neighborhood. “Parks don’t all look the same, and they don’t look out of place. They are well-kept and esthetically pleasing,” offered Gabi.
The couple enjoys taking their French Bulldog for a walk. Meeting up with Gabi’s parents at one of the parks to play a family game of corn hole is one of their favorite ways to spend time together.
“The Woodlands Hills feels like a pocket of peace and uniqueness,” Gabi expressed. Our friends are always enthralled when they see such a beautiful neighborhood and all its character. We’re trying to get them to purchase here too!”

No matter your stage in life or reason for moving, one thing is certain, The Woodlands Hills offers those searching for a new home so much more than a house. Here you’ll find as many activities to keep you busy as there are parks, trails and active areas as well as outdoor spaces for quiet reflection when that’s a priority.
